Sunrise Soya Foods, Canada’s leading provider of premium tofu products, has been committed to promoting healthy, plant-based eating since 1956. For the 2024 Moon Festival, they aimed to create an engaging animation video that would engage social media users, increase brand awareness and provide ideas on using Sunrise Tofu products in a variety of dishes.
The challenge: creating a short video that showcases their products while introducing a game element for viewers – “Count the Tofu.”
To meet this challenge, Sunrise Soya Foods collaborated with us to develop a storyboard that balanced cultural themes with an engaging storyline. We created a custom-designed Tofu Baby character and set it within vibrant scenes featuring traditional buildings and backgrounds. Each element was crafted to honour the cultural roots of the Moon Festival while inviting viewers into an interactive game, counting the Tofu Babies hidden throughout the animation.
To keep the animation lively and visually organized, we used high contrast colours and dynamic graphics. The animation was set to music inspired by the origins of tofu, adding to the cultural atmosphere. Running between 20-30 seconds, the video captures viewer attention while ensuring that Sunrise Soya Foods’ brand and products remain at the forefront.
Through thoughtful design and animation choices, this project brings Sunrise Soya Foods’ brand values to life, blending tradition with a fun, modern appeal that celebrates the Moon Festival. We thoroughly enjoyed every step of creating this video and greatly appreciate the creative freedom we were given.
